Inaugural Meet-Up (5/13/26)

At the February SoTL Commons Conference in Savannah, we soft-launched a new project during our “Studying and Supporting Understudied Students When Words Are Dangerous”  workshop. In response to this critical moment in US higher education, we created SoTL in the States to engage issues shaping SoTL within our institutional, political, and societal contexts.

We hope SoTL in the States will become “a platform for connection, community, shared resources, and collective knowledge about doing and supporting SoTL in the current US context. It joins existing regional SoTL communities around the world in attending to local conditions and contributing a distinct, contextually grounded perspective within a global field.” To learn more about its origin and our vision, read our inaugural blog post, “Why SoTL in the States?”

We invite you to the first meet-up, where we’ll share more about the project and host a conversation about supporting each other in our shared context.

You can also subscribe for updates about new events, posts, and resources.
